Pète chief leads

Chef pète leads ( Chief Goes Nanners in original version) is the eighth episode of the fourth season of the animated series South Park .

Synopsis

Chef is scandalized: the flag of South Park east according to him racist. In order to judge some with the greatest impartiality, one asks the children to decide if or not the flag should be changed. Their answer will surprise of them more one.

Comment

This episode is a Pamphlet against excesses of Nihilisme of the Minorité S whereas it is a subject taboo and difficult to approach.

Chief sees only the racial aspect of the flag (which represents a black silhouette hung by four white silhouettes), i.e. the interpretation of the flag. All in all, according to him, it is an old man relent past secessionist of the the United States.

In the episode, two camps are formed: those which think that the flag is racist and those which think that not. The fact is that the arrival of the Ku Klux Klan slightly will change gives it, badly putting at ease the opponents who do not want to be of their with dimensions.

With dimensions one of the children, those make a duty on " Is it necessary to change the flag or not? " and not " Is the flag racist? ". Thus the children advance with a point of view different from that of the adults who them see only the racist aspect. Wendy and Cartman is of agreement since this flag is violent but Stan and Kyle sees a symbol of their city there.

At the time of their talk, the adults realize that the children did not include/understand anything of what one awaited from them. And there Chef realizes that actually the children are right: they saw only one black and four white, whereas actually what it is necessary to see they are men.

It swallows a whole effervescent antacid bowl thinking that they was candies, then, after having drunk a blow, it explodes. After a silence, everyone bursts of laughing and Stan will say “It was good that there! ”
