Oxydase
A oxydase is a Enzyme catalyzing a Réaction of oxydoreduction implying a molecule of Dioxygène (O2) like electron acceptor. In these reactions, oxygen is tiny room out of water (H2O) or Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).
The oxydases are a subclass of the Oxydo-réductase S.
In bacteriology
The term of oxydase indicates a required Enzyme in systematic Bactériologie. It is said that a Bactérie is oxydase + if a fragment of culture is able to oxidize the reduced form of derived N-methylated from the paraphénylènediamine in semi-quinone (pink purplished).The presence of oxydase would be related to that in the respiratory Chaîne of the enzymatic complex IV: cytochrome-oxydase . Certain bacteriologists prefer rather speech of cytochrome-oxydase than of oxydase.
Examples of bacteria cytochrome-oxydase +:
- Vibrio ;
- Pseudomonas ;
- Neisseria ;
- Brucella ;
- …
Examples of bacteria cytochrome-oxydase -:
The search for oxydase is a fundamental test to direct the identification of the Gram- bacilli. One uses as reagent hydrochlorate or the PDA, one generally uses it with discs impregnated of this reagent (discs oxydases). On a blade, one places an impregnated disc of the reagent and one deposits after a colony with a Pasteur pipette. And if there is not nothing which appears that wants to say that the bacterium is oxydase and that it does not have the respiratory enzyme (cytochrome oxydase).
Other oxydases
- the lysyl oxydase is an enzyme containing of copper and oxidizing lysin, during bridging between the Procollagène and the Proélastine in the conjunctive Tissu.
- Glutathion oxydase
