Oxfordshire is a county of the south-east of England, neighbouring Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire. Abbreviation of " Oxfordshire" is " Oxon" , in particular for the postal addresses.
It is divided into five districts: Oxford, Cherwell, Vale off the White Horse, West Oxfordshire and South Oxfordshire.
The county has an important saving in tourism and is known for the Université of Oxford.
The city of Oxford is the principal center of population. The other big cities are Bicester, Banbury, Chipping Norton, Witney, Thame, Chinnor, Abingdon, Wantage, Didcot and Henley-one-Thames. One hopes for that the extension in the future will be concentrated towards Banbury, Bicester, Didcot and Witney.
The culminating point is Whitehorse Hill, in the Vale off White Horse, at an altitude of 261 m (856 ft). Oxfordshire is one of the richest areas of the European Union.
