Oxford is a town of England, population 134.248 inhabitants, chief town of the Oxfordshire, on the the Thames (which is called there the Isis ). It has the statute of city. The Université of Oxford (17 000 students) is oldest of the country and one of oldest of Europe; it was founded at the 12th century. Several films were made there like Harry Potter. Oxford also shelters Oxford Brookes University, another university, more recent (19 000 students).

To create her character of Alice in Alice with the country of the wonders , Lewis Carroll took as a starting point the girl of her director. The British actress Emma Watson lives there. The town of Oxford includes/understands 39 universities.
