The ovulation is the process of expulsion by the ovary (after formation of a follicule of Graaf, representing the final stage of the follicular development before ovulation) of a Ovocyte.
Ovulation at the woman
She is started with 14th or 15th day of the menstrual Cycle by the peak of LH secreted by the Hypophyse. This peak involves secretion by the granulosa of Prostaglandine S, which will involve a local Ischémie, causing the death of the cells of the epithelium ovarien. The fall of the hydrostatic pressure of the Follicule ovarien causes its contraction, which ejects the ovocyte in the cavity péritonéale, where it will be collected by the fringes of the house tubaire. The follicule is colonized by blood-vessels and becomes then luteinic cell or yellow Corps which produces a news Hormone: the Progesterone, while ovocyte I (a Gamète), if it is fertilized, becomes Ovocyte and finishes the Ovogenèse.
According to a study of 2007 the consumption of dairy products not skimmed would support ovulation.
