Ovine national federation
The ovine National federation , or FNO , is one of the specialized associations of FNSEA, created in 1946
The FNO is charged to ensure the representation of the stockbreeders with sheep as a whole of the authorities each time they are the professional interests of the whole of the French ovine stockbreeders. It is the only national union representing the ovine production in France.
Its members are the departmental ovine trade unions, which form the connection between the national activity and the stockbreeders. There exists a trade union in each French department. The activity of the FNO relates to the whole of the fields related to the ovine breeding the FNO is the privileged and uncontested interlocutor Public authorities for all the ovine files.
It remains in permanent contact with the whole of the partners related to the ovine production: agricultural organizations, members of the die (co-operatives, companies, distributers), organizations technical. Its action is as well at the French level as at the European level in relation to the ovine organizations of the other Convention countries. Its sphere of activity relates to obviously the follow-up of the European policy with respect to the ovine production and of its application in France in the fields such as:
- the CAP;
- the structural policy and agrienvironnementale;
- economy of the ovine die;
- medical rules and of identification;
- ovine genetics.
It takes share with technical work making it possible to improve the work conditions, the quality of the products and thus of the income of the ovine stockbreeders. It also follows very close the policy of organization of the French die and encourages the ovine stockbreeders to be organized and to engage in quality.
