Outremer is the generic name given to the Latin States of the East created after the First crusade.
At the 12th century, Guillaume de Tyr wrote a Historia rerum in partibus transmarinis gestarum in twenty-three books, unfinished and lost today, whose French title is Histoire of Overseas .
Three centuries later, in 1490, Sebastien Mamerot wrote the made passages Outremer by the French against the Turks and other Sarrazins and Moors outremarins .
