Overlapping
A overlapping is a Faille slightly reverses tilted, even horizontal, person in charge of the superposition of old grounds (immigrant) on more recent grounds (autochtones or para-autochtones when they are moved little). The horizontal displacement of the immigrant over the indigenous one can be several tens of kilometers; the immigrant then constitutes a Overthrust fold. Erosion can bore a tablecloth and dig there a window in which the indigenous one appears; erosion can also isolate from the “small islands” of tablecloth, called Klippe S (German shelf).
One finds mainly the overlappings in the assembly lines (present and last) and the prisms of accretion (zone of Subduction).
