Ovča

Ovča , in Serb Cyrillic Овча, is a locality périurbaine located at 13km of the center town of Belgrade, the capital of the Serbia. It belongs to the municipality of Palilula. In 2002, it counted 2.567 inhabitants.

The first mention of Ovča goes up with 1456; it then formed part of the Royaume of Hungary.

In 1537, the city was taken by the Othoman which integrated it in the sandjak of Smederevo.

In the middle of the 18th century, the city was evacuated because of the plague. It was repopulated only in 1813.
