Ouxpo

Ouxpo is the Acronyme of Or to vroir of X Po tentielle. It is a regrouping of groups of research on the possible creations based on the voluntary forced .

Ouxpo gathers the Oulipo, the Oubapo, the Outrapo, etc the term “sewing room”, recovering charity works in the past, was re-used for the bringing together between “sewing room” and “work”, on proposal of Albert-Marie Schmidt, of Oulipo, and was adopted as of its second meeting to replace Sélitex (for “seminar of experimental literature”). The “potential” term is used in the direction of this which is possible, realizable if certain rules are followed. All these sewing rooms give each other for object of investigation work under forced.

History

In the bosom of the Collège of' Pataphysique was created in 1960, the Oulipo (maintaining more known that the College itself because Oulipo, having a certain independence of the collegial administration, was not touched by the Occultation of the Collège of' Pataphysique).

According to the wishes of François Lionnais and Raymond Queneau, starting from the crucible oulipien, others Or vroirs of X Po tentielle were formed for the whole of arts and even more. Each sewing room is devoted to a field “X”. It analyzes the preexistent Contrainte S, and seeks new forms of creations Potentiel of this field. The coordination of the sewing rooms was entrusted initially to François Lionnais, No5el Arnaud then Milie von Bariter.

In the order of appearance, for the November 24th 1960 where the Oulipo was created, it was necessary to wait:

  • thirteen years to see appearing the Oulipopo (Police Literature) in 1973,
  • twenty years to be able to look at work of the Oupeinpo (Painting) in 1980,
  • thirty and one years for the Outrapo (TRAgicomédie) in 1991, first Sewing room to create without François Lionnais.

Since, a sewing room is born about each year.

Always in the order of birth:

  • the Oubapo (Cartoon) in 1992
  • the Ouhispo (History) in 1993
  • the Oumapo (Puppets)
  • the Ouphopo (Photography) in 1995
  • the Oucipo (Cinematography) in 1997
  • the Ou' inpo (Data-processing) in 1997
  • the Ouca (your) Po (Catastrophe) in 1998
  • the Oupypo (PYgologie) in 1999
  • the Ouarchpo (Architecture) in 2001
  • the Oupolpot (Political) in 2001

The Oumupo and the Oucipo (Music and Cinematography) were created very early but the dates are vague and undoubtedly these sewing rooms had multiple births. In fact, several Oumupo seem to coexist. In addition, Oucinépo (Cinema) evolved/moved in Sewing room of Potential Cinematography, fascinating of this fact “X” female and using only one Syllabe by word, like all Or-X-Po (put aside exceptions). The Ougrapo (Grammar) wants to be independent of Ouxpo. There exists also Ougrapo (GRAphique design), creates in Germany. The bases of a Oulipolipo (Polish LIbyco of Literature) and of a Oucarpo (Cartography) were published by Viridis Candela . Certain lists also make mention Oumathpo and of a Oupornpo (and the Kamasutra would be plagiarism by anticipation of a combinative pornography). The Contraintes.net site proposes Ouypo which would be during Ouxpo, but classifying the potentialities by type of constraint (there) rather than per field (X).
