Batman and the Outsiders (1983-1987)

Batman and the Outsiders was published of 1983 to 1987, that is to say 38 numbers (# 39 to 46 are republications of numbers 1 to 8 of the derived series Outsiders ).

Synopsis

Batman leaves off the Justice League America, reproaching them not for being interested enough in the crimes " ordinaires". Following first adventure (# 1 and 2), it will be brought to cross various supermen and will convince them to join it in its crusade.

The team is composed, in addition to Batman, of 2 already known heroes cd., Black Lightning and Metamorpho, and of 3 new characters or very little exploited: Geo-Force, Katana and Halation.

Leading life

The series will be scénarisée by Mike W. Barr and mainly drawn by 2 inking draftsmen/: Jim Aparo (# 1-12 + 16-20) and Alan Davis (# 22-36, ink by Paul Neary for the 2 last).

Batman will leave the group with # 32, from where change of title from the 33: Adventures off the Outsiders .

Outsiders vol.1 (1985-88)

The group will know one 2 title, launched in 1985: The Outsiders (28 episodes plus Annual and Special) always scenarized by Mike W. Barr and mainly drawn by Jim Aparo (# 1-7 + 9-14 + 17-19 + 21-22).

Some episodes were translated into France in cd. Flash # 8 to 14.

Outsiders vol.2 (1993-95)

The series lasted 24 episodes between 1993 and 1995. Declared treacherous Markovia, its native land, Geo-Force must ask for the assistance of old and new Outsiders to fight the lord vampire who controls his country.

Outsiders vol. 3 (2003)

Outsiders volume 3, with very few bonds with the preceding series, was launched in 2003 by Judd Winick, putting in scene of novel members, of which some had been member of the Titans. This series is always in hand.

Synopsis

This new team was created following the crossover Titans/Young Justice: Graduation Day which caused the dissolution of the two groups. Arsenal accepted the offer of sponsoring of the Optitron corporation and used their money to buy an enormous atomic shelter which had belonged to a multi-millonaire and renovated it to create the general headquarter of the group. It recruited a group of young heroes, the last of them being his friend Nightwing, who joined the team unwillingly.

The new team, baptized with the blessing of Batman, has vocation to continue the criminals before they commit new crimes, instead of simply reacting.

The first episodes were translated in numbers 2 to 6 of the review Generation cd. of Semic.
