Oussouye
Oussouye is a commune of Low the Casamance, (in the south of the Senegal).
History
The city, in its current delimitation, exists only since 1960. Previously it belonged to a named entity Oulouf.

Administration
The city is the chief town of the Département of Oussouye, in the Région of Ziguinchor.
Geography
The closest localities are Loudia Ouolof, Oukout, Sarinier, Singalene, Kahinda, Karounat and Ayoum.

Population
At the time of the census of 2002, Oussouye counted 4.052 inhabitants, 621 households and 466 concessions.End 2007, according to the official estimates, the population of the commune would rise with 4.239 people.
Economic activities
Located in the middle of the most traditional department of Casamance, Oussouye profits from its situation of crossroads which in fact a place privileged to go in direction of Mlomp - Elinkine - Karabane or to or Cape Skirring Ziguinchor.Oussouye counts three tourist campings. One develops to with it activities such as the excursions VTT, the walks with foot or in Kayak.
Located near the city, the National park of Low-Casamance the accommodated many visitors, but it has been closed for a few years.
