This phrase indicates:

a vault located at Holy-Addresses in Seine-Maritime, built in 1857 in the style Néogothique to honor the missing sailors;
a parish of the Quebec;
a new parish of the canton of Marchioness (Pas-de-Calais - France), of which it is question below.

Seven bell-towers

New parish of Bolted, belonging to the diocese of Arras, Our-Lady-of-Floods out of ground of the two courses was created in 2002 and gathers seven old parishes, called from now on bell-towers: Audresselles, Wissant, Ambleteuse, Audembert, Audinghen, Tardinghen, Hervelinghen, corresponding to the seven churches quoted in the Apocalypse: Éphèse, Smyrna, Pergame, Thyatire, Sardinian, Philadelphia and Laodicée. With other new parishes, Our-Lady-of-Floods marries the borders of the new community of communes of the Earth of the two courses, canton whose chief town is the town of Marquise.

The name of Our-Lady-of-Floods was allotted to him by the local clergy because the bishop, Mgr Jean-Paul Jaeger, began his apostolate of priest with Our-Lady-of-Floods, close to Dunkirk.

Patron saint

Saint Pierre of Ambleteuse, which made shipwreck with Ambleteuse at the beginning of VIIe century;
Notre Dame which gave her name to the parish and whose statue is venerated on cliff of Audinghen, with the locality " Vierge". Several people of Audresselles miraculeusement consider to be cured by it of pathologies of the Sang (diabetes, Leucémie, excess of Albumine etc).

The pastoral one

The parish being made up of very tourist coastal villages the summer, the pastoral one adapted to this situation: being given the lack of priests, they are the laic voluntary ones which ensures it for the greatest part.

Clerks and laic voluntary centered their pastoral on the local population the winter (cathechism of the children, talks personalized with the future grooms, the parents who ask for the baptism for their children, with the families for the preparation of the funeral). A mass is known as each Sunday in the " clochers" who have or of a priest resident or a liturgical team.

The summer, this pastoral is supplemented by conferences on the great figures of the Church, like the Padre Pio in 2005.

Choral societies of children give an additional dynamics to the pastoral one.

the great feast of the Assumption

Each August 15th, festival of the Assumption of the Virgin , a great procession is organized with Audresselles by the civil authorities and religious, from the exit of the mass to the sea which a priest blesses after having taken seat on the dory of a professional fisherman (mass with 15:00, procession with 16:00). This festival revêt also a folk character, with traditional costumes, which attracts crowd and which explains the concern of the tradesmen and the civil authorities to promote it. In 2005, a long report on this procession was included in national information of a chain of State.

Organization

The priest titrates (Michel Dubois), installed with Marquise, is that of the parochial district which gathers also several other parishes. The economic management of the parish is ensured by the team of animation parochial, chaired by the priest and composed members chosen by the clergy according to the advisory vote of faithful at the end of a Messe.

The deanery, which supervises the whole of the parochial districts of the Boulonnais, is installed with Desvres (Mr. Brunel senior).

Media

Regard Goes from there, periodical official of the diocese with an special edition for the new parish Our-Lady-of-Floods, is diffused with forty thousand specimens distributed to the subscribers by the voluntary ones. In general, the other local periodicals avoid starting its monopoly as regards information on the life of the parishes. Remainder, among the principal writers of this monthly magazine appear of former journalists of the local dailies which, after having taken their retirement, write articles in " Glance in Marche".

The role of the Arch

The presence of strong a the Community of the Arch founded by Jean Basket maker, and established in the parish, with Ambleteuse, makes profit the faithful ones from Ambleteuse and Audresselles of a priest serving in the person of the chaplain of the Arch. The big number of adult handicapped people accommodated by this organization also makes profit these communes and the communes neighbouring from the economic consequences of the activities of this one (requirements as doctors, orthopedists, psychologists, specialized educators, carpenters, masons, gardeners, employees administrative, technicians of surface etc)

Churches

- the church of Audresselles of the end of XIIe century, and its tables of the workshops Migne, as that of Tardinghen are oldest. They are also placed on exceptional sites. In the church of Wissant, an interesting statue of holy with barb is: Holy Wilgeforte.

Charity associations established in the parish

A voluntary representative of three charitable organizations supplement the activities of the parish:

it Catholic aid with Audresselles;

it CCFD, very recently with Ambleteuse;

- The Association of the Teams of Parochial Animation;

Oecumenism

In the absence of representatives of not-Christian women confessions, there exists of dialog only with the Hérétiques:

the parish maintains the occasional bonds, in particular at the time of the oecumenical baptisms, with the evangelic parish of Boulogne-sur-Mer.

an abstract but regular dialog also exists between the local catholic clergy and the laic persons in charge of the parish on the one hand, and a supervisor (bishop) of the Témoins of Jéhovah on the other hand. In the mutual respect of the convictions of each one, it consists of a comparison of the translations and respective interpretations of the Bible, in exchange of publications, moments of common prayer and reflection on the possibilities of developing the evangelization of the sector.

On the other hand, only of faithful ensures the connection with the catholics traditionalists, going sometimes to the Mass in their parish, sometimes with the Mass of fraternity saint Pie X with the church Saint-Louis of Boulogne-sur-Mer, street Felix-Adam.

Compete with

Because of reduction of the presbytérale presence to a Sunday mass per month in the church of each " clochers" , the monthly visits of the bishop of the Témoins of Jehovah start to bear their fruits and involve conversions among the faithful ones.

Of the regular practitioners of the parish Our-Lady-of-Floods goes from now on to Boulogne-sur-Mer, with the Saint-Louis church of fraternity Saint-Magpie X, the three or four Sundays of the month when they do not have any more a mass in their village. A priest of this fraternity even will be affected with the sector of the parish Our-Lady-of-Floods to replace his colleagues of the conciliar church Sundays when they will not celebrate.

Pastoral visits of the bishop

May-June 2006

Continuing its pastoral visit on the Ground of the two Capes after having met the elected officials on June 3rd, 2006, Mgr Jean-Paul Jaeger, bishop of Arras, answered directly and with frankness the questions and concerns from simple faithful during an informal meeting which was held the Friday the 1st er June 2006 with the church hall of Marquise. Come from the four corners of the deanery of Desvres to which belonged the Earth of the 2 Capes, the faithful ones raised questions without concession about the celibacy of the priests, the evangelization of the children, the size of the " news paroisses" , formation of laic committed, permanent paid, the law which prohibits with a minister of religion to proceed to a marriage not legalized in town hall, under penalty of prison. More abrupt, faithful rose on the fact that a rapist can communier whereas this sacrament is refused with one divorced-remarié. The bishop pointed out some simple truths but which remain of topicality: the Eucharistie remains in the middle of the life of the Chrétiens. Faithful and priests must initially carry out a work of understanding, in particular concerning the access to the sacraments of divorced-remariés. The Christian community does not fit any more in same geographical space only formerly, which explains the size of the new parishes, which remain small in particular if one compares them with those of the Pakistan. Concerning the celibacy of the priests, he answered that " the priest is not a civil servant of the worship but that who gives all his life for God and with the service of his frères". The faithful ones have also a big role to hold: no Christian can regard himself as " simple consommateur". In connection with the permanent ones, with the wages of which certain faithful refuse to take part by pouring the church-offering, Mgr Jaeger evoked the obligations of their engagement, adding: " the Church is a body of which we are the membres". The bishop of Arras invited the audience to also consult site Internet of the Catholic church where the bishops express themselves, and who allows to obtain answers to many questions.
