Our-Lady-with-Bellecombe is a common French, located in the department of the Savoy and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Its inhabitants is called the Bellecombains .

Geography

Our-Lady-with-Bellecombe is a small village of mountain located between 1100 and 2070 m of altitude in the the Alps of North, and more precisely in the Val of Arly. To 25 km of Albertville and 10 km of Megève, the population of this family station of Winter sports multiplies by ten during the holidays of February. The summer also sees ravelling its processions of tourists, mainly hikers liking to walk in the Alpages.
Contrary to much of larger stations, the architecture of this small village is still preserved; farms traditional and country cottages boisés.
are found there Since the month of December 2005, the station of Our-Lady-of-Bellecombe is member of Space Diamond, regrouping of 5 stations and cash 84 ski lifts.

a Little history initially…

It is into 1920-1921 that the Baroness of Rotchild starts to remain in Megève where the first skiers make their appearance.

In 1924 one builds the first cable car with Chamonix: The Needle of the South. The first ski-lift is built in Megève in 1933.

Since 1922, several people start to invest themselves in tourism with Notre Dame de Bellecombe.

The first hotel of the station, the Charvin Mount, date of 1902, but at that time the ski did not exist yet and the “foreigners” who knew Notre Dame de Bellecombe came only the summer…

As everywhere it is a handle of pioneers which contributes to launching the winter vacation. Mr François Joguet manufactures to him even the first skis and the ski sticks.

The economy of the commune which was primarily agricultural modifies already in tourist economy.

It is in 1937, qu ' is built the first ski lift of the station “Télétraineau” completely of before guard (the first in France).

Several monitors which passed an examination to Chamonix, start to teach the ski (Rose-Mignod Marcel, Marcel Gardet, Yvon Mollier).

Then came the war, the village, already small station, falls asleep…

In 1948, it tele sledge is removed and the first ski-lift of the area of the Valley of Arly is installed in Notre Dame de Bellecombe on the slopes of Reguet. The station then has a capacity of 600 beds. The School of ski and the Tourist office are installed on the place of the village in a small arranged barn. There are 7 monitors.

In 1959, the Club of the Sports of Notre Dame de Bellecombe is born, and will form truths candidates thereafter. Thirteen runners carried the colors of Team of France.

The Prize list of our champions: (Extracted) Jacqueline ROUVIER: Several times champion of France, bronze medal to the Championships of the World with St Moritz (1974) etc… Roger ROSSAT-MIGNOD: Champion of France junior, selected for the J.O into 68 and 72, winner out of world cup with Berchtengaden Catherine QUITTET: 9 championships of France, several victories or podiums out of World cup of 1985 to 1989… But also Rose-Mignod Roger and Bernard, Raymonde Ansanay, max Ancenay… and well of others which also belonged to the Team of France…
