Oum the white dolphin

Oum the white dolphin is a Televised series of French Animation in 13 episodes, created by Vladimir Tarta, realized by Rene Borg, diffused in 1971 on the second channel of ORTF and repeated starting from the June 29th 1981 on FR3.

Synopsis

This series tells the adventures of the white dolphin Oum and his/her young Yann friends, 13 years, and of his/her sister Marina, 7 years. Very intelligent and very beautiful, Oum always comes to assistance of his/her friends during their adventures. Yann and Marina live with their uncle Patrick, a former sailor, and many animals: Jean-Sebastien the grackle, which controls the language of the dolphins, Raoul the koala, and Flem the lazy one.

During their adventures, Oum meets Mamoum, beautiful dauphine with which it has small called Titoum.

Comments

  • Oum the white dolphin is also known general public, especially among young people, to have been the mascot of the chocolate mark Galak, of Nestlé. In 2006, this series is in the center of a lawsuit between Nestlé and its creators, to have used his image for the Galak chocolate whereas the rights of Nestlé had expired.
  • This series was coproduite with the Japanese company Eiken , which was also thereafter at the origin of other series of animation in coproduction with France. It is the case of It was once… Space and It was once… the Life . The Japanese name of the series is Iruka to Shônen (イルカと少年), which means the dolphin and the boy .
