Oulmes

Oulmès (rear RTL ولماس) is a city of the Morocco. Rural district populated of 10.000 inhabitants (approximately, in 2001) and located in the Average Atlas, in zone Tamazight.

The area of Oulmès is famous for its mineral Water, its Fruits (apples, pears, fishings, cherries, etc), its secular oaks.

An ovine local race and bovine (threatened of extinction) bear the same name as Oulmès. The ecosystem of Oulmès is also threatened by erosion, the overgrazing, the destruction of wood, the cereal monoculture and the abusive use of manure and pesticides as well as an uncontrolled exploitation of subterranean water at purely commercial purposes.

The mountainous region is equipped with high plateaus.
