Ouge

Ouge is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Saône and the area Franche-Comté. The festival of the village takes place Sunday following on July 16th.

Geography

Ouge is a small village located in full shift, between Fayl-Block (in the past Fayl-the-forest) and vitrey.

History

Ouge would have been with 10th possession of the abbey of Luxeuil and formed part thereafter of the grounds of Chauvirey. Completely destroyed in 1636, the village remained deserted seven years. It little by little was rebuilt and inhabited by peasants. The village was occupied during the two world wars by German, the houses were requisitioned.

There are few people living at the village all the year (see table above). But as of the summer, the houses acting as second home fill. Many houses one entirely restored by foreigners. One would count (dubious figure taking into account the evolution) 6 Dutch families and 2 German families.

Places and monuments

Castle 16th (IMH): 2 round towers, frontage is, turn of western staircase and staircase out of screw. Church 13th (IMH), very rebuilt with 19th: furniture and woodworks 18th, beam of glory out of wrought iron. Martyrdom (exeptionnel) 18th (MH) with statue-column, in the south-west of the village.

There be a cooperative dairy during many years, one still sees the frontage of it.
