Oudis

The Oudis (also called Oudines or Outis ) are people of the the Caucasus living mainly in Azerbaïdjan but also in Russia (Daguestan), in Georgia and Arménie. Their language is one of the Caucasian Langues the North-East.

History

Oudis are regarded as being the descendants of the Aghbaniens (Albaniens or Albanian of the Caucasus).

Culture

Language

Recencement of 1999 in Azerbaïdjan indicates, for this only country, that on this date it quasi totality of Oudis knew and practiced the language oudine. Moreover, 49,4% knew the language Azeri E and 68,3% the Russian language .

Religion

Oudis are very mainly Christian, mainly in the Armenian apostolic Église.

The May 26th 2003 a religious entity was set up and was officially recorded under the name of Christian community oudine albanienne of the Republic of Azerbaïdjan .
