Ouargla
Ouargla (Arab: ورقلة,) is a town of Algérie and the place chief of the wilaya of the same name.
The wilaya of Ouargla is the economic heart and lung of Algeria thanks to the Pétrole of Hassi Messaoud. Its surface is of 211.980 km ², and its population is estimated at 445.619 inhabitants. This wilaya gathers, since end of the year 70, all the origins and represents the totality of the communities of this country.
The town of Ouargla, at 128 meters of altitude, is located at 190 km in the East of Ghardaïa, 160 km in the South-west of Touggourt, 388 km in the South of Biskra. The inhabitants of Ksar (old city), called Ouarglis, are primarily of stocks Berbères. They speak the Teggargrent, a language Berbère very near to that of the Mozabite S (tribe having lived Sedrata with a score of kilometer of Ouargla before founding Ghardaia).
A true capital of the desert, surrounded by five small Oasis: BeniThour, Sidi Khouiled, Chott, Rouissat and goussa, one evaluates to approximately a million the number of palm trees. The oases are irrigated starting from artesian wells an average depth of 60 meters; one counts some more than 800 in the area.
