Ouanes Amor , born in 1936, is a painter Tunisia N.
Arrived in France at the 16 years age, he becomes the pupil of Roger Chastel then the assistant of Gustave Singier. In 1970, he becomes professor with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the fine arts. Claude Guibert describes it in these terms:
Come from a culture where the image, Amor located his work on this border of the representation, nonfigurative certainly, but can one was banished say abstract? If it left the sign, the painter offers to us, with the wire his series, a reality that the work coloured on surface reveals. I think, in particular, with this remarkable series on the olive-trees: the painter does not paint an olive-tree, it does not paint an abstract fabric: he paints the feeling of the olive-tree. Beyond this concern, it is well above all painting that it acts. Amor has a project which does not hold in a table; the project is the result of the whole of work where light and color, those of its native Tunisia, constitute the œuvre.
