Otto Neitzel

Otto Neitzel is a Compositeur, musical Pianiste and critical German, born the July 6th 1852 in Falkenburg and dead the March 10th 1920 with Cologne

Biography

It makes studies of piano to the Joachimsthaler Gymnasium with Berlin and to the Neuen Akademie der Tonkunst . It has as professors Theodor Kullak and Richard Wüerst. It is also raises of Liszt (1873-1875).

In 1875, it supports a thesis entitled Die ästhetische Grenze der Programmusik ( esthetic Limits of the Music with program ). He becomes guide of the professional singer Pauline Lucca and the violonist Pablo de Sarasate.

He occupies the positions of director of the music with Strasbourg (1878-1881), then of professor to the Conservatoire of Moscow (1881 - 1885). Returned with Cologne, it holds the musical criticism of the Kölnischen Zeitung .

It occurs with the the United States as pianist and leader (1906-1907).
