Otto Ier de Poméranie

Otto Ier de Poméranie or Othon Ier de Poméranie ( Otto I in Polish as in German) was born towards 1280 and is deceased the December 31st 1344. It is Co duke of Poméranie Western before becoming the duke of Szczecin in 1295.

Otto is the son of Barnim I {{er}} the Good and of his third wife Mathilde de Brandenbourg-Salzwedel. He is the younger brother of Bogusław IV of Poméranie and Barnim II of Poméranie. With died of Barnim Ier in 1278, Bogusław becomes the guard of its half-brothers. When Barnim II dies in 1295, Bogusław and Otto divide Poméranie Western: Wolgast for Bogusław, Szczecin for Otto. Otto is opposed to the foreign politics of Bogusław IV which was combined with the Poland to release itself from the Suzerain be of the Brandebourg. Otto remains a honest Vassal.
