Ottaviano Del Turco

Ottaviano Del Turco (born with Collelongo, in the Province of Aquila, the November 7th 1944) is a Politician Italy N.

A long time Social democrat senator (SDI), it is currently European Député and has just been elected President of his native area, the the Abruzzi, the April 4th 2005.

Previously, its political activity was also trade-union, in particular within the CGIL of which he was assistant general secretary of the Federation of the metallurgists (FIOM) and the National confederation (with Luciano LAMA). Directing socialist current of the CGIL, Del Turco leaves its trade union in 1992 and becomes, briefly secretary of old the Italian Socialist party, while this party underwent the by-effects of the scandals of misuses of public money. As a Senator, it chaired the Parliamentary commission against the Mafia. He was also Minister for Finance of the Amato government.
