Othon IV of Burgundy (1248 - 1303) Count Palatine of Burgundy, “titular” count of Trawl-net (1267 - 1303) and count d' Artois (by marriage with the countess capétienne Mathilde d' Artois known as Mahaut d' Artois )

Biography

  • 1248 it is born with Ornans from the count Hugues de Chalon (and from Burgundy by marriage) (of the Maison of Ivrée) and from the countess Adélaïde I {{Re}} from Burgundy (duchess Alix d' Andechs and of Méranie of the house of Maison of Wittelsbach by filiation)
  • 1263 it Marie with Philippa de Bar which dies in 1283 (girl of the count Thiébaut II of Bar of the Duché of Lorraine) with which it had a girl, Alix of Burgundy († between 1285 and 1291)
  • 1291 widowed, it remarie with the countess capétienne Mathilde d' Artois known as Mahaut d' Artois with which he has children:
    • Robert of Burgundy (count de Bourgogne with old 3 years and died towards the old one 15 years)
    • Jean of Burgundy (death to the cradle)
    • Jeanne II of Burgundy which marries in 1307 the king Philippe V (future Queen of France)
    • Blanche of Burgundy which marries in 1308 the king Charles IV (future Queen of France)
  • April 4th 1303, it dies at the 56 years age, with the service of the king Philippe IV, of the continuations wounds received during the battle of Arch in the Comté of Artois, against the Flemish count Guillaume V of victorious Juliers of the battles of Courtrai; its body was deposited in the Abbaye of the Lily, close to Melun; six years after, one it exhumed to bury it in the church of the Abbaye of Cherlieu where the Cérémonie Funèbre took place the March 5th 1309. It was installed behind the high altar in a tomb in black Marbre where it was represented out of white, laid down and covered marble of sound armor.
  • His/her son Robert of Burgundy succeeds to him as count de Bourgogne at the 3 years age under the regency of Mahaut d' Artois .
  • 1315 Robert of Burgundy dies towards the fifteen years age without to have reigned and without heirs, his younger sister Jeanne II by Burgundy succeeds to him like countess of Burgundy before marrying and becoming Reine of France in 1316 by marrying the king Philippe V.
