Othon IV of Brunswick-Grubenhagen
Othon IV of Brunswick-Grubenhagen , (born in 1320 - died in 1399), prince junior by the House of Brunswick.
It left its country, where it did not have a heritage to hope, went in Italy to make the trade of Condottiere, and acquired there such a reputation that Jeanne Ire of Naples, widow, chooses it for husband, in order to have in him a support against the enemies who threatened it (1376). It could not however prevent Charles de Durazzo from seizing Naples and in hunting Jeanne (1381). Fact itself captive, it left captivity only at the end of 3 years. It passed to the service of Louis II of Anjou, took Naples (1387) and punishes those which had been declared against Jeanne. He died in 1399.
