Other Writings
The Other Writings form one of the three parts of the Hebraic Bible, with the Pentateuque and the books of the Prophètes. Their Hebrew name is Ketouvim. They gather books of very different nature:
- the Book of the Psalms
- Job
- the Book of the Proverbs
- Ruth
- the Canticle of the canticles
- the Ecclésiaste
- the Book of the Lamentations
- Esther
- Daniel
- Esdras
- Néhémie
- the First and Second book of the Chronicles
Canonical order
This order of the books is that of the Judaïsme, included in the Protestantisme. The Catholicisme calls these Other Writings name of poetic Livres and sapientaux . It withdraws to them the following books, already included in the historical Livres corresponding to the Prophètes first of the books of the Prophètes of the Hebraic Bible:
- Ruth
- the Book of the Lamentations
- Esther
- Esdras
- Néhémie
- the First and Second book of the Chronicles
- Daniel, written in Araméen
- the Wisdom of Solomon
- the Siracide
