---- Otacon of its true name Hall Emmerich , is a Personnage of video game in the series Metal GEAR . It makes its appearance in Metal GEAR Solid , Metal GEAR Solid 2: Sounds off Liberty and in Metal GEAR Solid 4: Guns off the Patriots . ( Otacon is the abbreviation of Otaku Convention)

It is one of the engineers who took part in the development of the Metal GEAR Rex.

It is unconditional of Manga and Animé from where its pseudonym. Its first name, Hall, are inspired by the computer HALL 9000 of the film 2001, the odyssey of space . Lastly, its name, Emmerich are a homage to Roland Emmerich, one of the preferred realizer of Hideo Kojima.

It becomes an ally of Solid Snake during the incident on the island of Shadow Moses. Thereafter, the technology of Metal GEAR being spread in the whole world, it created with Solid Snake the organization Philanthropy , in order to fight against the proliferation of the weapons of the type Metal GEAR.

History

Former life

After the death of his/her mother, the father of Hall Marie with English named a Julie Danziger mother of Emma. Hall and Emma were very close one to the other and although they were only half-brother and half-sister, they developed fraternal bonds one towards the other. The mother-in-law of Hall ends up alluring it and they had a relation.

When the father of Hall learned the news, it committed suicide in the swimming pool by carrying Emma with him accidentally. This one hoped that Hal would come to save it. However it was occupied with his mother-in-law. Thus, although she survived the incident, she became foreign with her mother and wanted some in Hal not to have saved it.

Affected by all its events, Hal flees and does not revive any members of his family during several years.

It stopped the school to start to be formed all alone with the assistance of Internet. He became also a large fan of manga and did not miss any Otaku Convention and thus started to be made call Otacon.

It enters to the Massachusetts Institute off Technology and was graduate doctor of philosophy with the Université of Princeton. During its academic years, it was recruited by FBI for their research laboratory, but was finally " remercié" after having penetrated their database.

The incident on the island of Shadow Moses

Otacon is then engaged by Armstech to be the chief-engineer on the project Metal GEAR. For him, it was the chance of its life to create a Robot of the type Mecha as there are some in the mangas. it is said to him that the goal of this project was to create a mobile defense system.

During the incident of Shadow Moses, Otacon meets Snake which announces to him the true goal of the project Metal GEAR, namely, to create a weapon of nuclear massive destruction. Otacon then realizes that its family has a history of darkest. Indeed, his/her grandfather had worked on the Projet Manhattan, and his/her father had been born the day from the explosion of the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima.

Otacon then starts to give to Snake of invaluable councils on Metal GEAR, and the infrastructure in particular. That will make it possible Snake to go to the complex where Metal GEAR is.

During the incident, Otacon was taken of friendship for Sniper Wolf, perhaps under the influence of the Syndrome of Stockholm. The fact that Snake had to kill it disturbed Otacon and pushed it to reconsider its vision of the life.

After the destruction of Metal GEAR by Solid Snake, the plans were stolen by Revolver Ocelot which sold them on the black-market.

The first dressing of the Tanker

Technology Metal GEAR having become public, of many new models made their appearance, Solid Snake and Otacon then decided to found Philanthropy in order to fight against all Metal GEAR shapes. In 2007, Otacon receives a E-mail coming from his/her Emma sister, informing that a new type of Metal GEAR named Metal GEAR Ray, conceived by the American Marines, was transported by boat on the river Hudson. This email was in fact a soft food of the Patriotes in order to discredit it. Indeed, Ocelot was to steal Metal GEAR, and to make run the boat which transported it. By proving that Snake was on the boat, the Patriots succeeded in making it pass for a terrorist.

Snake and Olga Gurlukovich were saved drowning by Otacon. But they were made pass for dead for berner the Patriots.

The revolt on Big Shell

In 2009, it receives email, anonymity again this time (it will be learned thereafter that it is Liquid Snake taking the control of the spirit of Ocelot which sent it), whose contents ensured that a very new Metal GEAR model named Arsenal GEAR was under development under the structure of the Big Shell on the spot where the tanker had run.
