Osvaldo Pugliese
Osvaldo Pedro Pugliese (December 2nd 1905 - July 25th 1995), Pianist and Type-setter of Argentinian Tango.
Biography
Oslvaldo Pedro Pugliese was born on December 2nd, 1905 with Buenos Aires in a working-class family.
His/her father offers a violin at 9 years to him over which it starts to play, but it will move quickly towards the piano. 15 years, he plays in a coffee then he will accompany by silent films to the cinema such as those of max Linder or Charlie Chaplin.
He will work then with musicians such as Paquita Bernado, Enrique Pollet and Pedro Maffia of 1926 with 1929. He joins then the violonist Elvino Vardaro and they create a first sextet which will integrate Alfredo Gobbi and Anibal Troilo. After having left this first unit, it joined the orchestras of Alfredo Gobbi, Roberto Firpo and Miguel Calo.
In 1925, it writes its first Tango: " Recuerdo" In 1939, it definitively creates its orchestra which began on August 11th in the coffee " El Nacional" Its talent is confirmed with the title " The yumba" - onomatopoeia which, for him, characterizes the halètement deep one carried by the Bandonéon S, raising the whole of the orchestra giving a broadth similar to an inspiration contained slackened with force.
It dies out on July 25th, 1995, with nearly 90 years.
