Osteomalacia

The osteomalacia is equivalence in the adult of the Rachitisme of the child.
It is about a Ostéopathie generalized, characterized by a primary defect of mineralization of the osseous matrix deposited by the Ostéoblaste S. There is thus an abnormal accumulation of osteoid Tissu nonmineral-bearing involving an osseous brittleness. It differs radically from the Ostéoporose where the osseous screen is rarefied but normal mineralization. Osteomalacia causes spontaneous fractures and one often notices small cracks on the bones of which the most reached are the bone coxal, the vertebrae and the femurs. The skeleton east radiotransparent because the density of the bone is decreased. Generally comes from a deficiency in vitamin D.
