Osteichthyes

The direction of the term Ostéichthyens is different according to whether one is located in traditional or phylogenetic classification.

In phylogenetic Classification, the Clade of Ostéichthyens includes/understands osseous fish but also the Batracien S the Reptile S and the Mammifère S.

In traditional Classification, the super-class of Ostéichthyens (of the Greek osteon , bone and ichthys , fish), or osseous fish , gathers the Poisson S which have a Squelette osseous.

The Ostéischthyens are vertebrate sailors.

Characteristics

  • Os endochondral and lépidotriches on the fins.
  • Squelette interns completely ossified, osseous elements dermic.
  • Jaws made up of gingival bones: dental, prémaxillaire, and jawbone. Teeth firmly established on the gingival bones.
  • osseous Fin.
  • Slits branchiales covered by a cover and branchiaux arcs 1 and 2 articulated on the same osseous part.
  • air Bags connected to the digestive tract.

super-class Osteichthyes

Ostéichthyens contain the class of the Actinoptérygiens, which gathers the vast majority of the fish species, and contains in particular all fish having an economic interest for the man (fishing, Aquaculture, Aquariophilie).

Phylogeny

Compared to the relative group, the most notable innovation is ossification with the presence of two types of bone of different origins:
  • the bone enchondral which replaces during the development the cartilagineuses parts of the internal skeleton.
  • the bone dermic which gives the bones of the brain-pan and the pectoral girdles.

One observes also the presence of air bags connected to the digestive tract which will give the lungs of vertebrate terrestrial and the swim bladders of the Actinoptérygiens. These air bags are suspected at certain Gnathostomes fossil. The attempts at emancipation of the aquatic environment would then have appeared in this clade.
