Osmo Vänskä

Osmo Vänskä , born the February 28th 1953 in Sääminki, is a Leader Finnish.

Biography

It was initially first Clarinette of the Philharmonic orchestra of Helsinki, then studied the direction of orchestra to the Académie Sibelius. It gained in 1982 the international Concours of young leaders of Besancon. He became invited chief of the Symphony orchestra of Lahti in 1985 and principal chief in 1988, and it is with this orchestra that he gained important famous which opened an international career to him.

Its repertory is very wide, but it is especially known for its excellent interpretations of the Scandinavian type-setters, in particular Grieg, Sibelius and Nielsen.
