Historical events:
January 14th, 1046 (?). The Young Duke of Normandy Guillaume says the Bastard reducing one for his survival his residence of Hunting of Valognes because of a plot of the barons of Bessin and of Cotentin which want to remove it to replace it by Guy de Brionne, his/her cousin called also Guy of Burgundy, crossed Large Vey in middle of the night between Brucheville and Saint Clement (It stopped in the church to request).
The Crossing at that time was not possible that by two places: small Vey by boat and Large Vey by the strikes.
Large Vey was very dangerous since it was accessible only has low tide (Many rivers finish there their courses, Vire, Aure, Douve, Taute)
This same passage will be often used by Gilles de Gouberville when it went its fields of Mesnil-with-Valley to Russy close to Bayeux to meet his uncle there, priest of this parish.
