Osman III

The Harvard College Observatory (or HCO, Observatory of the university Harvard ) is an institution managing a complex of buildings and instruments intended for astronomical research of the department of astronomy of Harvard. It is located at Cambridge, in the state of the Massachusetts, with the the United States, and was founded in 1839.

In 1973 was created the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, in collaboration with the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, to coordinate the activities of the two institutions.
