Oskar Pastior is a Poète germano - Rumanian, born the October 20th 1927 with Hermannstadt, in Romania and dead the October 4th 2006 with Francfort-sur-le-Main. It was crowned in 2006 of the very prestigious Prix Georg-Büchner. In France, it is especially known like German representative of the Oulipo.
Oskar Pastior was born with Hermannstadt (Sibiu) within the German minority from Romania. His/her father was professor. He studies with the college of his birthplace of 1938 with 1944. In January 1945, it is off-set in the USSR and is sent in several Gulag S. It is authorized to turn over in Romania in 1949.
It carries out food jobs then. During its three years of Military service, it takes courses by correspondence and obtains its diploma of end of secondary, before working as workman of the concrete. Of 1955 with 1960 it studies the German with the Université of Bucharest and obtains its Diplôme. Starting from 1960, he becomes journalist of the German-speaking division of the radio of State. Its first publications of poetry in Rumanian draw the attention in the Années 1960 and it gains two prestigious prices of Rumanian Littérature. In 1968, Pastior benefits from a voyage of students with Vienna to flee towards the Western. It settles thereafter with Munich, then with Berlin where it carries on its activity of writer since 1969. Pastior dies the October 4th 2006, whereas it carried out last the final improvements of its speech of acceptance of the Georg-Büchner-Preis, during the Foire of the book of Frankfurt.
In the German literature contemporary, Oskar Pastior is regarded as the eminent one representing of a poetry based on the play with the language and the words, where the borders with the poetry of nonsense is fluctuating. Pastior is very influenced by the phonic Poésie of the dadaïstes and by the Littérature with constraints.
Pastior is member of the Conference of the new poetry of Bielefeld since 1977, of the Academy of arts of Berlin since 1984, of the German Academy of the Language and the Poetry of Darmstadt since 1989 and of the Oulipo since 1992. It also translated into German Rumanian authors like Lucian Blaga, Mihai Eminescu, Panaït Istrati, Tristan Tzara or American like Gertrude Stein.
Pastior always expressed an interest for the forms of potential Littérature, in particular for the anagrammic poems . It publishes Anagrammgedichte in 1985, Anagramme in 1988 and Okular STI Eng/the Fence (Plasma, 1992), poems made up according to the anagrammic form Ulcérations of Georges Perec. In 1983 appears Sonetburger and in 2000 at Engeler O of the roher Iasmin: 43 Intonationen zu "Harmonize soir" von Charles Baudelaire .
Harry Mathews makes him discover the Sextine, of which it will become very fond of delicacies. He will invent an alternative of it, the minisextine ( minisestina ).
Pastior was also illustrated in the Palindrome (in March 1988, it receives the price of the radiophonic part of the month for Mordnilapsuspalindrom )
Following a meeting with Jacques Roubaud at the time of a festival of the book in Germany, Oskar Pastior is co-opted with the Oulipo in 1992, at the same time as Herve Tellier. Since October 4th, 2006, he is definitively excused meetings.
