Oshikoto is one of the thirteen Région S administrative of Namibia.
Formerly integral part of old the Ovamboland, it was created in 1992.
The mining and industrial activities concentrate in the south of this agricultural area.
It is also historically the fatherland of Ndongas of the Ethnie Ovambo.
The communications of this area are developed better than that of the three other areas of the Ovamboland. That is in particular with the activity of the mine S of Tsumeb.
This area densément populated is divided into nine districts: Oniipa, Onayena, Olukonda, Omuntele, Okatope, Okangolo, Omuthiygwiipundi, Engodi, Guinas, and Oshikoto.
Most of the National park of Etosha is included in this area.
