Oshana is one of the thirteen administrative areas of Namibia.

Formerly integral part of old the Ovamboland, it was created in 1992. It is one of the least arid areas of the north of Namibia.

This area in process of industrialization is populated quasi-exclusivement Ovambo S and is politically dominated by SWAPO. It is also the area most populated of Namibia after the urban area of Windhoek but still suffers from an insufficient or obsolete infrastructure.

Business district of the north of Namibia, this area suffered in term from employment from the departure from the security forces South-African in 1990 whereas the other branches of industry other than agricultural only few prospects offered.

The area close to the mining city of Tsumeb is populated.

Oshana is divided into nine districts: Oshakati, Ongwediva, Okaku, Okatana, Ondangwa, Ompundja, Uukwiyu, Okatjali, and Uuvudhiya.
