Oscar of the best film music

This Oscar rewards each year the best film music at the time of the ceremony for the Oscars which is held in Hollywood. The prize list below gives the year of exit of film and not the year of the ceremony having rewarded it, which takes place in the first quarter of the following year. Anecdotes

  • the Italian type-setter Ennio Morricone forever received Oscar for this reason, but received in 2007 a Oscar of honor.

  • For the Carriages of fire , Vangelis had composed a first main theme which the realizer had used in a prefabrication. Having composed another topic, it had to persuade the realizer to change some, which it obtained at the last time, for finally obtaining the Oscar and seeing his topic becoming a world success.

  • the film of Charles Chaplin, Fires of the slope , received the Oscar of the best music in 1972 whereas it went back to 1952. It left to the United States only twenty years after its exit in the rest of the world.
