Oscar Xavier Schlömilch
Oscar Xavier Schlömilch (April 13rd 1823 with Weimar - February 7th 1901 with Dresden) is a German Mathématicien , specialized in the field of the analyzes. He taught inter alia with the Université of Iéna and the technical Université of Dresden.
He is known to have given his name to the Fonction of Schlömilch, a type of Fonction of Bessel. He also wrote many articles and was the editor of the newspaper Zeitschrift für Mathematik und Physik , of which he is one of the founders.
He also solved the problem of the number of regular polyhedrons in a space with N dimensions.
