Oscar Luigi Scalfaro (born the September 9th 1918) is a Italian Politician . One of its ancestors had the title of baron by the King of Naples Joachim Murat.

Biography

Bachelor of law and former magistrate, constantly elected appointed starting from the 1946, it initially belonged to the right wing of the Christian Democrat. Then it approached the center of its party. Several times under-secretary and minister, vice-president (1975 - 1983) and chair (1992) of the House of Commons, it was president of the Republic the Italy of 1992 with 1999. Since 1999 he is senator with life as a former president of the Republic.
