Oscar Eramus Lanford III (New York - June 6th, 1940), American Mathematician.
Biography

Doctorate in mathematical physics of the University of Princeton (1966) on the Quantum theory of the fields, entitled: Construction off Quantum Fields Interacting by has Cut-Off Yukawa Coupling under the direction of Arthur Wightman.

Of 1966 to 1982, he is mathematics professor at the University of California to Berkeley.

In 1982, it is named professor of physics to IHES of Bore-hole-on-Yvette.

Mathematics professor with ETH of Zurich since 1987.
Work
Work in Quantum theory of the fields, Physical statistics, then since 1975, in theory of the dynamic systems, in particular with the application to these systems of ideas resulting from the theory of the Group of renormalization.
