History

The club is founded the November 17th 1920 (November 20th according to the magazine Don Balón) by fusion of the clubs " Pamploneses del Sportiva" and " New Club". The name of Osasuna , proposed by Benjamín Andoian Martínez, means health in Basque. The February 25th 2007 the club played its thousandths match of Liga.

During the season 1985-1986 it took part for the first time of its history in the UEFA Cup, after being hoisted in the sixth place of the championship. The June 11th 2005 the club disputed its first final of Copa del Rey, without gaining it.
