Os radius

For the data-processing protocol, to see Radius (data-processing).
---- The radius is a long Os which forms the Squelette Avant-bras.

The word comes from Latin radius , who means " rayon".

This bone goes from the outside of the Coude at the base of the inch on the Poignet. It is shorter than the other bone of the front armlever, the ulna (called ULNA in the new nomenclature).

The lower end of the radius bulky, is slightly flattened d´avant behind. Its external face is prolonged by l´apophyse styloïde radial. Its lower face has 2 articular surfaces: an external surface for the Scaphoïde and a surface intern for the semilunar . Its inner face has an articular surface for the head of the ulna. The head of the radius is covered with cartilage. The collar of the radius is crossed by the radial nerve. The convex face is the tumerosity of the ulna (bicipitale). The lower curve is the curve pronatrice where the radial styloïde, prolonged by lower articular surface is located.
