The orthopedist-orthésiste realizes to measure of the Orthèse S, i.e. the external equipment with therapeutic goal. He intervenes on almost all the articulations of the body, except for those of the jaw.

Formation

The training of orthopedist-orthésiste is opened with all those and those having a good culture in Biologie and manual Travail. No diploma is neccéssaire to reach the formation, and the number of applicants is too weak to impose a Numerus clausus. One often finds Pharmacists which want to evolve/move in their practice, of former medical students, and the pharmacists having passed the D.U of orthopedy. It is also a feasible formation on the outlet side of the vat, without any prérequis, although a scientific vat is an advantage. The diploma obtained is a BTMS of level III, corresponding to an approval of the social security and making it possible to make refund the equipment by the organizations of health insurance.

Technique

The orthopedist orthesist can work:

• the cork and the foams, used for the clothes industry of the plantar orthèses (orthopedic soles)

• the fabrics, the seam and metal for the realization of the Corset S and the belts to measure
• the plastics thermoformables, for the realization of the corsets of immobilization and the orthèses of Hand, Wrist and Ankle thermoformées
