Orthodoxy in Azerbaïdjan

The people living in the area, kept the memory of their Christian past several centuries. The cases are frequent, when the ethnic Moslems, receiving the Christian faith, become pious and dedicated children of the Church. Moreover there was old a Ethnie albanienne, which kept fidelity with the Christianisme. They are the descendants of the " Oudis ", alive now in the village of Nidzh of the area of Gabalinsky and in the area of Oguzskom of the Azerbaïdjan, like in the village of Oktamberi in Georgia. These " oudis" , which resides on the territory of Georgia, are dealt with by the orthodoxe Church Géorgienne. Oudis (close to: 8000 people), who reside at Azerbaïdjan, received the possibility of opening of the ethnic origin and the religious liberty only these last years.
