Orson Scott Card (born the August 24th 1951 in Richland in the State of Washington) is a American writer of Science-fiction being in particular illustrated under kind of the Fantasy.
It accepted the Prix Hugo and Nebula two consecutive years, under sound Cycle of Ender, which constitutes a first in the history of the science fiction.
Biography
Born in the State from Washington to the United States, it was missionary with the Brésil. He is member of the Église of Jesus-Christ of the Saints of the Last Days (Mormons) and currently teaches with Salt Lake City.
In 1977, it publishes a first Nouvelle, for which it obtains the Prix John Campbell (better new author in science fiction). In 1979, it publishes its first novel, a named planet treason .
In 1985, it publishes the Strategy Ender , rewarded at the same time by the Prix Hugo and the Prix Nebula. The continuation of this novel, the Voice of dead the , again receives the Hugo price and the price Nebula, a first in the history of the science fiction.
During years 1990, it takes part in the realization of several video games at LucasArts like Loom, The Dig or The Secret off Monkey Island.
In spite of the success of the Cycle of Ender, this author is rather directed towards the Fantasy.
In 2005, it scénarise two mini-series of Comic S Ultimate Iron Man for Marvel Comics drawn by Adam Kubert and Pasqual Ferry.

Characteristics
Its works always turn around the human factor, technology (or its absence!) being only the backdrop on which the characters evolve/move, often of young children, who often live an initiatory trajectory. Its Mormon belief appears more or less according to the novels. The Religion S, which they are invented, as in the Cycle of Ender, or real are often present in its works, and its knowledge of the crowned texts is very thorough.
The Cycle of Ender
The Cycle starts with the history of Ender (the Third and " dernier" wire of its family, from where the name) which, six years old, is educated in order to carry out the land forces to overcome a race insectoïde extraterrestrial called " Doryphores" and pretense hostile with humanity. The continuation of the cycle will lead Ender to meet other races and to push very far its reflection on the difference and the otherness.-

The Cycle of the shade
The cycle of the Shade is devoted to the history of " Bean" , young exceptionally gifted boy in the more artificial beginnings, friend and lieutenant d' Ender, trained as possible substitute.Note: This Cycle of the Shade does not seem to appear in the editions and critical anglophone of the work of O.S. Card. The novels Ender' S Shadow, Shadow off the Hegemon and Shadow Puppets belong to the cycle of Ender there.
