Orpund ( Orpond in French) is a common Suisse of the Canton of Bern, located in the District of Nidau. Although the commune is not officially bilingual since the official language is the German, the French-speaking population represents a rate of 7% of the total population. This factor is due to the fact that Orpund is in a strongly bilingual area of the canton of Bern, namely the Zeeland.
