History

Chamber orchestra of world famous founded in 1972 by the violoncellist Julian Fifer, its characteristic is the division of the work of direction, the musicians deciding together play for each part. They repeat and occur without Leader.

Discography

The orchestra has a considerable discography, with approximately 70 recordings of works of Georg Friedrich Haendel, Arcangelo Corelli and Antonio Vivaldi, the symphonies of Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as well as works for winds of this last.

The orchestra also recorded romantic works of Antonín Dvořák, Edvard Grieg and Piotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski, as well as repertory of the 20th century with Béla Bartók, Sergueï Prokofiev, Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel, Arnold Schönberg, Charles Ives, Aaron Copland and Igor Stravinski.
