Orobanchaceae

The family of the Orobanchacées is a family of plants Dicotylédone S. Classiquement, according to Watson & Dallwitz, it includes/understands 180 species divided into various kind S:

  • Aeginetia L., Boschniakia C.A.Mey ex Bong., Christisonia , Cistanche , Conopholis Wallr., Epifagus Nutt., Gleadovia , Kopsiopsis , Lathraea , Mannafettaea , Necranthus , Broomrape L., Phacellanthus , Phelypaea , Platypholis , Xylanche .
They are herbaceous plants, with sheets simple, alternate, more or less parasitic, areas moderated with subtropical, especially in the Northern hemisphere.

It is in particular the family of the Orobanche S which parasitize in a quasi specific way of other plants.

For the phylogenetic classification of APG (1998) and the Classification APG II (2003) contours of this family are wider with nearly 2000 species in 65 kinds with in particular the kinds Melampyrum , Rhinanthus , Pedicularis and Euphrasia placed previously in the Scrophulariacée S. This family is located in the order Lamiales .
