Ornithocheirus

The Ornithocheirus is a Reptile flying about the Ptérosaures and of the family of the Ornithocheiridés . Its name means: with the arms of bird. According to the fossils discovered on several continents, one determined that the species would have lived with the Crétacé inferior.

Mainly carnivorous Piscivore and occasionally it did not hesitate has to behave in Charognard when the opportunity arose.

Of a scale of 12 m for 100 kg (adult) it could traverse long distances and connect the continents in a few weeks to see even a few days.

It is thought that at the season of the loves, they met in the edges of the points of water or on beaches in order to couple itself. Each individual could found his partner but the young stronger adults rejected the males (often older and weak) far from the group. The latter, tired to have made a long voyage until the gathering point and not having on the occasion to couple itself remained on the spot and died.

It is thought that the disappearance of the species is related to its incapacity to adapt to the climatic upheavals of the time.
