Ornans is in the valley of the Loue, on the layout of old RN 67.
the commune is located at 25 km in the south-east of Besancon, to 29 km in the east of Quingey, to 35 km in the North-West of Pontarlier, to 37 km of Saline-the-Baths and to 42 km of Balsam-the-Ladies.
